Mark Donnell

Mark is a founding Partner of Woodward Partners.  Mark has over 8 years experience in investment banking and providing commercial advice.

Mark’s original undergraduate degree is in Mechanical Engineering, and he worked as an engineer for four years after graduation, attaining certification as a Registered Engineer.  Mark then returned to the University of Auckland to complete a Masters degree in Management Science.  Following this Mark then worked for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) as a management consultant based in New Zealand but working extensively for offshore customers.  While at Andersen Consulting Mark became increasingly involved in the partnership’s own venture capital and private equity portfolio.

When Accenture withdrew from New Zealand in 2002 Mark joined Cameron & Company (now Cameron Partners).  During his time at Cameron & Company Mark was involved in M&A transactions (including sales processes and takeover responses), in corporate finance advisory work (including valuations and capital structure reviews), and in developing competitive and corporate strategy for a number of New Zealand’s major corporates and SOEs.

Mark left Cameron Partners in 2008 to develop a funds management business – an initiative which had to be shelved due to the then global economic difficulties.  Mark then acted as an independent investment banker for a number of clients, including developing the commercial arrangements for the Government’s $1.5 billion investment in ultra-fast broadband infrastructure.
